Lifting weight

This task was all about adding performance into are animation. we simply had to animate a character lifting a weight. But to focus more on the anticipation and performance in the animation.

Again this was a test and is still a working progress, i was happy with it overall but feel like some of the movements need to be smoother, the timing could be adjusted slightly and more detail could be put into the hand and face movements.

Sea Test

The task here was to create a short test animation of are interpretation of the sea, so i chose to do a quick rough 2d animation of waves crashing on shore.

Even though this was a quick test, i was happy with the outcome and enjoyed doing it as it was something completely different to animate.

Digital Painting

Although digital painting is something that i haven't done a great deal of in the past i really enjoy it and want to get better at it so here is a quick portrait i did in photoshop inspired by the artwork of Voka.

I love doing portraits and really like this style as it was quick to do and has a very colourful and sketchy look to it. I felt that this was a successful piece not because of how it looks but because i tried doing it really quick which got me more comfortable and used to using the drawing tablet. I hope to transfer this speedy painting over to more environmental paintings.

Infinitus Artificium

Infinitus Artificium is a third year project based on dance, using a combination of 2d and 3d animation. I had looked at what they where doing with this project and once i saw that they where highly influenced by Ryan Woodward and his 2D animation Thought of you, i was immediately interested.

Ryan Woodward. Thought of you

I love the work of Ryan Woodward and especially love this animation because of the style of it.
I was asked by the leader of this third year project to do a test animation of a short scene but to try and put some style into it similar to that of Ryan Woodward's work, to give it an inky feel and show motion.

My Test Animation
I loved doing this short test animation because it was something completely different to what i have been doing so far in the first semester. I found some of it awkward to do as the style of Woodward work is very unique and trying to get something that looked similar to it proved challenging. Although this test was a very quick animation i felt that i achieved some sort of style to it, that showed motion.

Cinematography, the wallet

The Wallet
For are cinematography project we had to come up with a short film, we could have whatever story we wanted but it had to be silent and no longer than 2 minutes. Are group chose to base the story on a simple chase scene between a thief and a victim. The story was very simple but we felt that this worked as we could concentrate more on the camera work and style of the film. My main role was acting as the thief although i did have input into some of the different shots and ideas throughout the film. I really enjoyed working on this short film and felt that as a group we all worked well together. Overall i felt that there where parts of the film that could of been improved, for example a few more shots could of been added and maybe a sound track could of been added.
