Poses

Here we were asked to put this simple character into various poses just to understand how to pose characters in Maya.

Doing this task also made me think about the human body when in these poses and made me realise that the smallest change can make a big difference to the feeling that the pose gets across to the viewer.

Double Take, Cube Character

For this task we where asked to animate the 2d cube character as before but this time with a double take and more of a performance.

As i was trying to put more performance into the reaction, it made me think allot more about the timing. For example when to add a pause and for how long to make the action more noticeable. or how much to stretch the character to over exaggerate the reaction to whats off screen.

Overall i felt that this was a successful short animation but still feel that there are areas to improve on.

Drawing

Here are a few quick sketches of anatomical drawings and one from a life drawing class, i was pleased with the anatomical drawing although they where out of proportion i still like the style of the drawings, and doing them made me think allot more about the muscle structure of the human body.

Walk

The task here was to animate this simple character walking. I was expecting this to be a hard task but i was pleased to find it a lot easier than i had expected, although i have learnt that there are very simple techniques and alterations that need to be made to make it look like a human walk, rather than a straight robotic walk. I have also learnt how the slight differences can make a whole new walk and change the characteristics of the animated character a great deal.
